Issue by Lina A: How to copy the files of this dvd onto my personal computer?
I have a math textbook on DVD and I want to be in a position to view the software/program/no matter what on my laptop or computer without having the DVD. How do I do that?

It is straightforward..just recode your movie files from the dvd to your hard drive.
I’m using dvdshrink..it really is cost-free

If you dont want to install third party software then simply go to my computer and right click the dvd rom icon, and click open. If your book is all in video then go to the vts folder and copy .vob extension file only, you also need to check the file size, just copy the files if the file size is large enough.

if it is video.. there is what others suggested which is dvdshink but for easier video riping. i would say is handbreak, works on windows or a mac. if you want to just backup a data dvd. use imgburn. and just click on copy contents to a image file. which then can be mounted with daemon tools. lite. dont get other versions of daemon tool cuz they have toolbars and stuff.
    http://handbrake.fr/ for handbreak.
    http://imgburn.com/ for imgburn.
problem with dvdshrink is you have to torrent it or some other way. because the official site can not offer you the program. which is why i suggest the other freeware apps.. don’t pay for free things. There are comerical apps.. like imtoo.com this site has products that are top of the line for converting any video format of dvd’s or to burn to a dvd.

I recommend you Aiseesoft DVD Ripper.

It could easily rip DVD to MP4, H.264, AVI, MP3, WMV, WMA, FLV, MKV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, 3GP, 3GPP, VOB, DivX, Mov, RM, RMVB, M4A, AAC, WAV, etc. with super fast DVD ripping speed and excellent image and sound quality.

It also can edit the DVD movies, such as trim a video clip, crop the movie, merge several titles or chapters into one file and so on.

    Hope can help you!

If it is a math textbook on the DVD, it sounds like an application.
I have 3 options for you:
    1. Uninstall the application. Copy all the files on the DVD to a folder on your hard drive. Run the setup file from there, maybe it will not ask you for the DVD anymore.
    2. Search the net for “virtual drive”. Create a virtual DVD drive and load the DVD files to your virtual drive. The application will now see the virtual drive and will not bother you for the DVD anymore.
    3. Make a copy of the DVD.

I am afraid you can not copy your dvd files to computer directly.
You should use a dvd ripper to do this.

I share you a professional one——->4Videosoft DVD Ripper Platinum.
